Have you checked out Old Salem, North Carolina? Old Salem offers a fascinating historical experience that showcases how people worked and lived in the early South. Old Salem is within sight of downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Old Salem Museums & Gardens will celebrate the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Old Salem Toy Museum. There will be a number of special events and activities throughout October and November to commemorate the anniversary.
October 1, 2008 – January 15, 2009: G. Wilson Douglas, Jr. Exhibit Gallery features “Treasures from Storage,” items from the Toy Museum collection that are rarely displayed.
October 17 & 18: Collector’s Weekend. This weekend will feature a cocktail party, lectures by industry experts, including Noel Barrett (frequent appraiser on The Antiques Roadshow), brunch with Toy Museum Founder, Mr. Tom Gray, booksignings, tours and much more. Pre-registration is required.
November 15: Toy Museum Community Day. Community Day at the Toy Museum will feature hands-on activities for the family, lectures, toys and much more, and admission to the Toy Museum will be free on this date only.
