North Carolina Theatre Raleigh — 2009 Schedule
I have done it myself. Headed to New York City to catch a Broadway show. Well, here’s a tip. If you want the same great theatre experience without the travel hassle and cost, you need look no further than the North Carolina Theatre in Raleigh. If you have not experienced this great venue, know this: North Carolina Theatre does not simply present shows. They actually produce them. According to Kristin Buie, Communications Manager, “We only have the rights to revivals.
We hold auditions locally in Raleigh and in New York City. We hire a director, choreographer, find a set and costumes and build the show from the ground up. Our shows only are produced in Raleigh and do not leave to go to another venue – so that is something special about us.” I’ll say. You and me, as consumers of great entertainment, get world-class presentations right here in our backyard.
Moreover, North Carolina Theatre is a non-profit, professional regional theatre that produces a selection of fine Broadway musicals each year. NC Theatre also has a Conservatory for the Performing Arts located in North Raleigh that offers students ages 3 to adult a solid foundation in the performance arts. This comprehensive, nine month, semester-based program provides classes in all disciplines of acting, singing and dance taught by New York and local professional performers and instructors.
