BE MY VALENTINE, CHARLIE BROWN Great Smoky Mountains Railroad Bryson City, NC – The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad is pleased to announce our annual Peanuts™ Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown excursion. The special event train will depart the historic Bryson City depot on Saturday, February 13th, at 11:00 am. The train will travel along the Tuckasegee River, cross over the Fontana Lake Trestle and into the Nantahala River Gorge for a 4 ½ hour round trip excursion. Passengers will join Charlie Brown, Lucy and Snoopy for old fashioned Valentine’s Day fun based on the popular television episode titled by the same name. Thirteenth in the series, Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown premiered in 1975. Fans follow Charlie Brown’s Valentine’s Day woes as he tries to get noticed by the “little red-haired girl” and receive a briefcase full of Valentines. Festivities include mingling with Charlie Brown, Lucy and Snoopy costume characters, listening to the narrated story based on the television special, and children can create their own Valentines for that special someone. There will also be plenty of photo opportunities, so do not forget your camera! Advance tickets are recommended, as seating is limited. Standard adult tickets are $34.00 and children two and up are $19.00. An upgraded dining option is available for passengers for an additional $22 for adults and $12 for children ages 2-12. The dining menu features Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo accompanied by a Fresh Baby Green Salad served with Tangerine Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing. Dessert will be Raspberry White Chocolate Cheese Brule with fresh berries. For a romantic evening with that special someone, enjoy a delectable three-course dinner in a candlelit dining car aboard the Sweetheart Dinner Train.
