North Carolina Symphony Holiday Pops Concert at Pinehurst

The North Carolina Symphony in the picturesque setting of Pinehurst, North Carolina. What can I say? I would be remiss if I did not post a quick note about this holiday event. If you’re looking for old fashioned holiday charm and a great cultural experience, you can do no better than attending the North Carolina Symphony Holiday Pops concert at Pinehurst on November 26.

Grove Winery Greensboro NC Holiday Events

North Carolina is gaining national recognition for its wine industry. My wife and I love good wine. And if you do too, here’s a tip for a great NC Roadtrip. Head to the Grove Winery and Vineyards in Guilford County. Open daily until 5 p.m. for tours and tastings, the 44-acre farm features the winery and estate vineyards and is located just northeast of Greensboro, a short drive from the Triad or Triangle.

The American Craft Show in Charlotte NC

Moore County NC Fox Hunting

This is a colorful tradition in Moore County, North Carolina that you might want to check out. No foxes are killed, I assure you. But what you do get is great pageantry — beautiful horses, hounds and riders doing their upscale thing across the bucolic Moore County countryside. It’s going to be held this year on Thursday, November 27.  Yes, Thanksgiving Day. Why not something different before you dive into that turkey dinner? The Moore County Hounds will start aapproximately 9:30 a.m. Understandably, hunting with the pack is by invitation only. However, as spectators you and I may watch on opening day. The event will be held at Hobby Field off Youngs Road in Southern Pines, North Carolina.

Raleigh NC Capital Area Handbell Festival

Raleigh, North Carolina consistently offers unique cultural experiences for the entire family. For a great opening to the holiday season be sure to attend the Capital Area Handbell Festival. Can handbells really sound this good? Yes. For the 20th consecutive year, 300-400 handbell ringers from several states will come together for two days of ringing and learning under a nationally-known handbell clinician. The festival is produced and run by The Raleigh Ringers. The ringers will present concerts November 14th is 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and November 15th from  8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Check it out.
